Lottery Funding

In deciding whether of not to make an award the Heritage Lottery Fund has to be satisfied that the bid meets the following critieria

  • help people to learn about their own and other people’s heritage (learning);
  • conserve the UK’s diverse heritage for present and future generations to experience and enjoy (conservation); and/ or
  • help more people, and a wider range of people, to take an active part in and make decisions about heritage (participation)

Note: Lucy Price from HLF was first presented with a draft of the bid and was encouraging with her comments. The final bid was submitted in early February 2010 and a decision to award funding announced in early April 2010.
